Spinning Profits
by Ronda Del Boccio, The Story Lady
Article spinning, article submission, article syndication, and repurposing web content strategies.
Phase 1 – Write an article (30-60 minutes).
Open a new plain text document. Notepad / TextEdit) You will put EVERYTHING about the article into this document. So everything will be in one place.
The article should serve your ideal audience. Make sure to plop it into a plain text editor like Notepad for the PC or TextEdit for the Mac. This is because you don’t want any funky code or characters polluting your work.
Use your primary keyword in the article.
Write a short article description (called a summary) that uses your primary keyword.
Craft a powerful resource box that uses your keyword.
Here is a video showing you how to make life easy for yourself when it comes to writing articles..
–> Good article about increasing click-through rate.
Done? WOO-HOO! Give yourself a gold star for writing an article – and celebrate!
Phase 2 – Enter the Article Syndicator! (5-10 minutes)
Then, go to SubmitYourArticle and add your article.
Next, register for an account or login if you already have one).
Select Submit Article and enter your title, summary (short description), article and resource box.
Save your article
That was easy!
Phase 3 – Leverage Your Article (30-60 minutes)
Go into ArticleLeverage to spin your article.
Enter at least 4 alternative titles. Save them into your document.
Enter at least 2 alternative descriptions (summaries). Save them into your document.
When choosing the types of spin, choose paragraph not sentence. You do NOT need to save the alternate paragraph spins.
Write at least 2 text and html resource boxes. save them into your document.
If you realize there’s something you need to change, don’t worry, you can simply go back in and edit later.
This video walks you through the process.
Celebrate!
Woo-HOO! Give yourself a gold star!
Your article will take a day or so to be approved, but while you’re waiting, you can take the next step.
Now you’re going to be really glad you have verything about each article in their own separate file!
Phase 5 – Tracking Results (about 1-3 minutes)
Set up Google Alerts for each title of your article titles (with the title in quotes).
As you see links to the versions of your article come in, either via the alert or by searching in Google, be sure to add them to your notepad (plain text) document.
Here is a video that shows you how.
SOME of the directories will send you an email with the link to your approved article. You will want to record the link. It will be similar to the sample that follows:

You can go into Ping.fm and blast a quick note (just like a Tweet) about the new article, using the keyword.
OR you can use the Shareaholic FIrefox Addon to blast the article. Here is a video showing you how. (Either way gets you to the same result.)
When articles get picked up by ezine/web publishers, follow-up on the alerts that you get. Use Ping.fm or Shareaholic to blast.
Phase 6 – Repurposing Your Content
Use versions of your articles that appear in the various directories to create
Feel free to leave a positive comment or thumbs-up for these examples.
Hubpage (OK guys, Hubpages tends to drive me nuts. I’ve had to go back and modify pages 3 times.)
NOTE: You will need a FRESH SPIN that is NOT in an article directory already. Even putting the article source and exact link will cause them to kick it back as a duplicate. Hubpages is real picky. Do your proper linking and also add another link either to a hub of YOURS or to another site.
Stay tuned, in case I have any more issues with them. Once I figure it out and get the system down, it will be easy for everyone.
Latest and greattest… First they said the hub was too promotional with just the one link. So I added a links module with various highly useful and valuable resources. Then I got “substandard hub” – so I added 2 videos.
I’m seriously thinking that you might want to forget hubpages and stick a MySpace blog post in there instead. No editorial controls and you can simply plop an article from one of the directories in there (with attribution of course) and then create a link using the keyword. MUCH less of a hassle.
Squidoo lens I’m getting to where I can pop out a squidoo lens in about 20 minutes, maybe less. I’ll clock myself for certain next time.
MySpace Blog
SoKule Sokwall - if you have a SoKule account wiht Sokwall, you can put a spin of the article there and link it into yoru daisy chain.
Link Path to use in the various pages
Use the same strong keyword. Link the pages through this keyword in a “daisy chain” as follows:
Sokwall to MySpace blog to Hubpage to Knol to Lens to Blog post.
(Or if you skip the hubpage fine, but make sure you have 4-5 linkages.)
This video walks you through repurposing.
WOO-HOO! Gold Stars!
Celebrate BIG TIME!
